Just Reported -- .The Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors has released its January 2006 statistics for re-sales of single-family and condo/townhome units. Noteworthy stats are:
# of available single family homes = 16,493 (+23.3% over Dec. 05; +10.5% over Jan. 05)
average list price of single family homes = $444,278 (-10.4% under Dec. 05; - 1.0% under Jan. 05)
# of single family homes sold = 1,778 (-27.0% under Dec. 05; -10.4% under Jan. 05)

The Southern Nevada Home Builders Association has released its year-end 2005 statistics for new home sales. In 2005, 30,750 new homes were sold compared to 29,248 in 2004. The median price for a new home in 2005 was $345,130 versus $290,287 in 2004.

Photograph your home and possessions*. If you should ever experience a burglary or fire, having an up-to-date household property inventory could make your life much easier. If you need to submit a claim, you won't have to rely on your memory to list what you had and how much it was worth. It's also a good idea to photograph or videotape the contents of plus the interior and exterior features of your home. Keep a copy of the photos or tape with the inventory list in a safe deposit box or other secure place outside your home or online.
